The city of Santa Marta will be the starting point for this fascinating adventure; The Lost City of the Tayronas, located 1200 meters above sea level in the heart of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, is trekking for nature lovers, where they can enjoy rivers, waterfalls, mountains, native fauna and birds, and also observe some communities of natives. The Tayronas were a tribe that inhabited the north of Colombia and the Lost City, built by them around 700 B.C., was only discovered in the 70s by huaqueros (people in search of indigenous burials). Currently, the descendants of this ethnic group are 4: the Wiwas, Koguis, Arhuacos, and Kankuamos.
The trekking lasts 4 days and it has a certain degree of difficulty since the daily walks will last around 7 hours.
